2 Killed in Courtroom Shooting: Germany At least two people have been killed in a shooting at a courthouse in Bavaria, in the south of Germany, police say.

Several others were reported to have been injured in the attack in Landshut, 73km (45 miles) north-east of Munich.

Police spokesman Leonard Mayer said the gunman was believed to have killed himself. It was not clear who else died in the shooting.

“According my information there are two people dead,” he said, adding that the attack “came out of the blue”.

“The gunman is no longer on the move,” Mr Mayer said. “The situation has calmed down.”

The courthouse was completely evacuated after the shooting, which began at about 1015 local time (0815 GMT).

The shooting comes less than a month after a teenager went on a gun rampage in and around his former school in in Winnenden, south-west Germany, killing 15 people.
