KABUL: Abdullah Demands Sacking of Afghan Vote Commission Chief, Afghanistan, Abdullah the presidential candidate called on Monday for the head of the country’s independent Election Commission (IEC) to be dismissed before the second round of elections next month.
Abdullah called for the dismissal of the “immediate” Azizullah Ludin and its replacement by another member of the CIS.
“He has not left the credibility of the institution,” Abdullah told a news conference.
“What is the solution? Another commissioner of the same commission must make its position.”
A nominally independent body, the Electoral Commission commissioners were appointed by President Hamid Karzai and Ludin was a former presidential adviser.
