Adam Laroche to Red Sox, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that the Pirates have traded first baseman Adam LaRoche to the Red Sox. What the Red Sox are giving up isn’t known at this point.
Adam Laroche, 29, is hitting .247 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI, and a .770 OPS. He makes $7.05 million, second-highest on the Pirates behind Jack Wilson, and will be a free agent at the end of this season.
Adam LaRoche’s brother, Andy, was traded last summer from the Dodgers to the Pirates as part of the three-team Manny Ramirez trade that brought Jason Bay to the Red Sox.
