Altaf Hussain Seeks Withdrawal of POL Prices’ Raise

LONDON: Reacting on the recent raise in petroleum prices by the government, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Altaf Hussain has demanded President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to immediately withdraw the decision.
In a statement issued from London on Monday, he expressed serious concerns about hike in petroleum prices, saying it can lead to increase in transport fares and inflation.
He said that people had already been suffering from the skyrocketing prices of essential items and under such circumstances; this raise is unfair for the people.
