Attack on Jaya leads to angry spat

The Jaya-Karuna war has just turned uglier. A day after a visibly shaken Jayalalithaa told TIMES NOW that arch rival Karunanidhi’s DMK was reponsible for the attack on her cavalcade, and for the inadequate police security provided to her the DMK has hit back.
In a latenight statement, the DMK has lashed out at the AIADMK Chief for playing petty politics. They have accused her of trying to divert people’s attention since she was unhappy with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s growing popularity after his efforts to resolve the Sri Lankan Tamil issue.
Jayalalithaa was on her way to attend a function, when the car she was travellig in was targeted by a mob. They began pelting stones at the AIADMK chief. One of her windows was damaged in the incident.
Recently, Jayalalitha had reported an alleged threat to her life, saying she had received an e-mail threat.
