Bank of Punjab’s Ex-President Arrested in US

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News : Bank of Punjab former president Hamesh Bank of Punjab’s Ex President Arrested in USKhan has been arrested in America by US Department of Justice.
US department of justice has informed Pakistan about his arrest. The government of Pakistan had contacted Interpol for the arrest of Hamesh Khan following which the arrest has been made.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed to issue arrest warrant for Hamesh Khan and his son, in Rs 9 billion Bank of Punjab loan scam, owner of Haris Steel and his son Haris Afzal, industrialist Seth Yaqoob and his daughter Irum Yaqoob. Their assets had already been frozen.
Hamesh Khan is accused of causing the bank losses more than Rs 9 billion in losses. The BoP had granted a loan of Rs 9 billion to the Haris Steel Industries (HSI) without fulfilling the legal requirements and the HSI had consequently defaulted on the loan. The bank had then filed a petition against HSI.
