CID submits chargesheet in serial blast case

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) which was probing the October One serial blasts here has submitted chargesheet against twelve persons accused of sedation, conspiracy against the state and deliberate attempt at creating communal riots.

The chargesheet was submitted yesterday (December 27) in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of West Tripura district here and said that of the twelve accused, five are absconding and the rest are in jail custody.

The charge sheet mentioned that of the twelve, the ten accused are members of the banned All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and the two others are the persons who sold sim cards of mobile phones to the insurgents.

Of the five absconding, three are staying in their base camps in Bangladesh and thus possibility of their arrest is remote, police mentioned in the chargesheet.
   
The CJM ordered seizure of all movable and immovable property of the insurgents now staying in Bangladesh and issued permanent arrest warrant against two other absconding persons.
   
Altogether 85 persons were seriously injured in the October 1, 2008 following four serial blasts. However, no one had succumbed to their injuries.
