Congress going for second inningsNEW DELHI: It has turned out to be a celebration day for the supporters of Congress as poll results are heading towards declaring the Congress led UPA government in majority again for the second term in the centre.

The Congress headquarters here wore a festive look with party workers carrying flowers and buntings, dancing to the music of ‘dhols’ (drums).

Many of the supporters sang “Jai Ho”, the Oscar-winning number by A R Rahman in the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

In a striking contrast, the BJP headquarters at 24 Akbar road was bereft of any such activity with only senior leaders like Prakash Javadekar, Balbir Punj and Najma Heptullah at the office.

The Congress workers have also setup a ‘hawan’ with the picture of party’s star campaigner Rahul Gandhi next to it.

A large flowered cutout of the country has also been installed outside the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath as party workers burst crackers to mark the trends going in the party’s favour.
