Current Account Deficit of PakistanTalking about the economy of Pakistan, well it has been declining for some time. According to the sources a sharp decline has been noticed in the account deficit of Pakistan. During the last nine months a decrease of $5.677 billion has been seen in the account deficit. The reasons for this decline are thought to be the following: Firstly, because of the higher inflows, secondly due to the increase trend in services exports and lastly as a result of the decline in the trade deficit.

The account deficit of Pakistan during February 2010 was $50 million while it decreased to $40 million in March 2010. The income deficit still continues to increase while the services and trade sector have put in a lot of effort to decrease the current deficit and they have managed to do so to some extent. The total income deficit was $12.199 billion. The services sector showed a consistency and stood where they were before. Their export was of $3.016 billion while their imports were of $4.923 billion.

Last year the deficit of imports and exports was $10.262 billion with $14.321 billion exports and $24.582 billion imports. This year this deficit was $8.024 billion with $22.413 billion imports and $14.389 billion exports. The income deficit also showed a decline of 32%.

The experts believe that if the current accounts are made stronger then this will help to stabilize our economy. Also the exchange rate of Pakistan will also increase or at least become stable.
