ECP suspends membership of 68 parliamentarians

ECP suspends membership of 68 parliamentariansIslamabad, Pakistan:- Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended membership of 68 members of parliament including Minister of State Dr. Ayatullah Durrani upon failing to submit declaration of assets on Tuesday.

Out of 68 suspended members, 21 are from National Assembly, 32 from Punjab Assembly, 7 from NWFP Assembly, 4 from Sindh Assembly and 4 from Balochistan Assembly. The suspended members include Minister of State for Industries and Production Dr. Ayatullah Durrani, Captain (R) Safdar, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Kashmala Tariq, Rana Nazir Ahmad, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, Naseer Bhutta, Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar and Shahnaz Saleem among others. Members of Parliament are supposed to submit declaration forms of their own and their family members’ assets by September 30 every year. According to the notice issued by ECP, the membership of these parliamentarians would remains suspended until they submit declaration forms.
