Everton vs Man Utd, Everton Manchester United, Manchester United face a tough trip to play in-form Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday as their bid to win a fourth successive Premier League title continues.
David Moyes’ home side go into the game on the back of a string of good results – they have lost just twice in 12 games in all competitions – which has seen them rise into the top half of the table after a terrible start, which was largely down to a number of injuries to key players.
In midweek they resumed their Europa League challenge, beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 to give them a slender advantage to take to Portugal for the second leg of their last 32 clash in the competition which represents their only remaining chance of silverware this season.
United, on the other hand, are still fighting on three fronts as the campaign moves into its crucial latter stages. The Red Devils certainly seem to be hitting form at the right time, having gone undefeated in the league for two months and cutting Chelsea’s lead at the top to just one point.
With a League Cup final against Aston Villa to look forward to, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are also in a good position to progress to the last eight of the Champions League after their thrilling 3-2 away win against AC Milan in midweek.
Two sides on top of their game hopefully means a keenly contested and entertaining fixture lies in store, with United going in as favourites to secure all three points in front of a potentially hostile Goodison crowd.
