Five Killed As Army Take Control In Hangu

HANGU :The security forces have taken control of several hideouts of extremists in Toraori and Zargari areas of Hangu, as operation continued on Friday. Five were reportedly killed when gunship helicopters pounded on pro-Taliban hideouts here, late on Thursday.
The forces have also claimed to have taken control of the house of Taliban chief of Hangu district Moulvi Ghulam Nabi.
The hideouts of the extremists were targeted with arterially shells and Gunship helicopters were also used during the operation. Five people killed and three were injured in fresh operation of the security forces. Curfew is still clamped in Doba for last eight days and in Hangu Bazaar for last two days. Hangu Tall road has been closed completely for every type of traffic.
The authorities in Hangu have set up three relief camps at Hangu Stadium, Primary and middle schools where residential facilities have been arranged for the people coming from other areas due to operation and security situation.
On the other hand, sectarian clashes that lasted more than four months and took lives of hundreds of people in border area of Kurram agency have been halted temporarily after negotiations of Jirga with both the rivals parties. Due to closure of Peshawar-Para Chinar highway for the last eight months, people living in Kurram agency are facing shortage of edible items.
