‘Gandhi’ Director Attenborough in hospital

Richard Attenborough, the celebrated Director of the Oscar-winning film ‘Gandhi’, has been hospitalised after suffering a fall. Lord Attenborough, 85, has been admitted to the St George’s Hospital here and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Born in Cambridge in 1923, Attenborough has been a prolific film-maker and ‘Gandhi’ was the highlight of his career. The film bagged eight Oscars, including best film and best director.
Lord Attenborough is the older brother of TV wildlife presenter Sir David Attenborough.
