Girija Prasad Koirala Died at 85

Girija prasad koirala was born on 1925 and died on 20th march 2010.He was the president of Nepali Congress and he was the famous politician. Girija prasad koirala was known, as G.P Koirala.He has been the prime minister of Nepal for four times.

His career started in 1948 as he founded the Nepal Congress. He has been a very active part of politics in Nepal.

In 1952 Girija Prasad Koirala became the president of Nepal Congress but king Mehndra arrested him and he was imprisoned for fifteen years but in spite of having in jail he continued his politics and his fellows helped him a lot in that period of time. Then1967 he was released but he was exiled with his fellows to India. After returning to Nepal in 1979 he was elected as General secretary of Nepal Congress from 1975 to 1991.

In 1991 Girija Prasad Koirala was elected as Member of Parliament and in his charge Nepal was improving. Many universities, hospitals, and media sectors were liberated and many good changes were taken pace in Nepal. Many big universities were opened on his name. In 1998 He took charge of Prime Minister.

In 2008 he resigned from his job but still continued to work as democratic support of the party and working for liberalizing the democratic rules. He became very ill and On 20 March 2010 at the age of 84 he died due to multiple organ failure. His contribution to politics world is uncountable.
