Governor Punjab Salman Taseer is hatching conspiracies

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Ahsan Iqbal Saturday alleged that Punjab Governor Salman Taseer is hatching conspiracies in the province and also described as unconstitutional the method in which Pakistan People’s Party is restoring the deposed judges.

Ahsan Iqbal flanked by other PML-N leaders, told a news conference here that agreements made by PPP and PML-N were not the result of any pressure but were reached in a free environment.

He also accused the PPP of running a character assassination campaign against PML-N’s presidential candidate Justice (Retd.) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui.

He said PPP has criticised Siddiqui and called him a ‘novice.’ Accusations which he says are baseless as the PML-N maintains the former chief justice is the man for the job.

Ahsan has also demanded the PPP to behave gracefully and shift to the opposition in the Punjab Assembly as PML-N has done in the centre.
