Hamish’ Escape: Four FIA Officials Suspended

ISLAMABAD :Taking serious note of the escape of former Punjab Bank President Hamish Khan from Pakistan, Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik has suspended four Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) officials who assisted Hamish in fleeing.
The name of Hamish Khan was put on Exit Control List for huge bungling in the bank by Federal Government. Hamish managed easy escape from Pakistan to avoid the legal proceedings against him in bank fraud. He fled from Pakistan via Peshawar airport and it is not clear where he has gone. Rehman, who arrived from abroad yesterday took serious note of Hamish Khan’s escape and suspended four FIA officials.
The suspended officials of FIA Immigration include Assistant Director Inamullah Khan Gandapur, Inspector and Shift Incharge Naeem Khan, Sub-Inspector and Group Incharge Zahir Arbab and ASI Humaira Abbasi who was also counter officer at Immigration counter Peshawar.
They have also been removed from Peshawar Region. Sources in Interior Ministry told this scribe that it is being considered whether the Federal Government will take measures to bring Hamish Khan via Interpol or by using extradition method with the country where he has gone.
