Holbrooke, Mullen Arrive in Pakistan today

ISLAMABAD: US envoy for the region Richard Holbrooke accompanied by Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, arriving in Pakistan today to meet the top leadership of the country after US President Barack Obama’s pledge of massive, long-term aid for the country.
The two top officials of the United States will urge for more cooperation from Pakistan during their meetings with Pakistani officials.
The anylists say that Washington expects stepped-up Pakistani military operations this year to complement those by the expanding American forces in southern and eastern Afghanistan. The two U.S. officials were in Kabul on Sunday.
