Hope Dworacyzk is Playboy’s first 3-D Playmate of the Year. The magazine is set to hit newsstands on Friday, May 14, 2010 and for the first time ever, will showcase the first 3-D pictorial and 3-D glasses. Hugh Hefner, Playboy founder went on the record to say “What would most people like to see in 3-D? Probably a naked lady.” Hefner (also known as “Hef”) furthered in a telephone interview that he’s not “a huge fan of 3-D…I leave real life to go to the movies and 2-D is fine with me.”

Playboy has taken a hard economic hit since 2006 when circulation reached over 3.15 million. In just three years’ time, circulation only reaches 1.5 million. In an attempt to increase sales, Playboy has gone higher tech. Hef originally conceived the 3D idea back in the 1950’s but rendered the endeavor too expensive. Playboy teamed with cable great HBO to produce the 3-D issue.
