Hurriyet Leader Mirwaiz Slams Indian Tactics To Stress KashmirisISLAMABAD: The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the occupation authorities would not succeed in suppressing Kashmiris’ aspirations for freedom by resorting to pressure tactics in occupied Kashmir.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in Srinagar condemned the occupation authorities’ restrictions to thwart peaceful anti-election protests in the occupied territory, a local newspaper reported.

He maintained that the occupation authorities were frustrated and using relentless force to suppress people from expressing their views. “The authorities fear if people assemble they will have to face outburst of sentiment,” he said.

The APHC Chairman pointed out that the so-called polls were being conducted in presence of lakhs of troops. He said by holding people hostage for conduct of polls, the troops were spreading a reign of terror.

“We will not bow to these pressure tactics and carry on our anti-poll campaign even if we have to sacrifice our lives,” Mirwaiz added. He called upon the people to follow and make the programmes of the Jammu Kashmir Coordination Committee a success.

Meanwhile, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a media interview in New Delhi urged people to totally boycott the sham polls in occupied Kashmir to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiris they have offered for the attainment of their right of self-determination.
