All shops, businesses establishments and government offices remained closed and transport was of the road in Srinagar, Badgam, Pampore, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kupwara, Shopian, Kulgam and other cities and towns of occupied Kashmir.
People took to the streets and staged forceful anti-India demonstrations in Nowhatta, Maisuma, Rajouri Kadal, Barbarshah, Habba Kadal, Qamarwari, Bimna, Zena Kadal, Islamabad, Shopian and Pampore areas. Over fifty persons were injured when Indian troops resorted to heavy lathi charge, excessive teargassing and firing on the demonstrators.
On the other hand, senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, visited the family of the martyred student in Rainawari area of Srinagar. Addressing a gathering on the occasion he maintained that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level.
Meanwhile, Indian police personnel raided the office of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League at Rajbagh in Srinagar, vandalised the goods and arrested four party activists. The party Chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani strongly condemned the police action.
