India Test-Fires Dhanush Missile

BALASORE: India test-fired `Dhanush’ missile, the Naval version of Prithvi missile, from a warship in Bay of Bengal on Sunday.
The missile was test-fired from a warship positioned at about 30 nautical miles from the Integrated Test Range (ITR).
According to experts, `Dhanush’, has a strike range of 250-km and can carry single warhead up to 500 kg and hit off and on shore targets. It is about 8.53 metres in length and 0.9 metre in diameter. While its launch weight is about 4.4 tonnes, it uses a single stage liquid propellant engine.
