India Wants Dialogue in Terror-free Milieu

India Wants Dialogue in Terror free MilieuNEW DELHI: India wishes to address differences with Pakistan through dialogue, but meaningful dialogue is only possible in an “environment free of terrorism”, Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said here.

“We support a stable Pakistan at peace with itself and the region. We wish to address our differences with Pakistan through dialogue. At the same time, we have made it clear that a meaningful dialogue will be possible only in an environment free of terrorism,” Krishna said while addressing a conference.

Following the Mumbai attacks, Pakistan had taken some “halting measures” to address the evidence presented to them by India, he said.

However, Krishna said, India was yet to see Pakistan take effective steps to end infiltration and dismantle the infrastructure of terrorism.

“As the prime minister has said – should Pakistan show the statesmanship and vision to act resolutely against terrorists, India would be willing to meet it more than half way,” Krishna said.
