Indian Pacer Patel Fined After Remarks To Umpire

DUBAI: India fast bowler Munaf Patel has been fined for remarks made to an umpire during Wednesday’s ODI against Sri Lanka, according an International Cricket Council (ICC) statement.
Patel was fined 75 percent of his match fee for comments made to Gamini Silva after the official turned down an lbw appeal during India’s three-wicket win in the second one-dayer at Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The five-match series is level at 1-1.
ICC Match Referee Chris Broad fined Patel 75 percent of his match fee under clause 2.8 of ICC code of conduct.
Indian team captain Mahindersingh Dhoni and manager Sanjay Desai also attended the hearing.![]()
