Jessica Alba in talks to star in Tamil flick

After Sylvester Stallone, Kylie Minogue and Carmen Electra it might be Hollywood’s hottest property Jessica Alba’s turn to fly down to India for a film. But there is a difference, it would not be Bollywood but Tamil film industry that would be host to Alba.

The actress has been approached for the lead role in Tamil film ‘Goa’ which is a co-production of Saundrya Rajnikanth’s Ochre Films and Warner Bros.

Alba has been approached to play the character of slain tourist Scarlett Keeling in the film that is based on the sensational murder of the British teenager that attracted global media attention last year.

Karthik, the Chief Marketing Officer for Ochre films, confirmed the news saying that Jessica has been sent the script.

“We were looking for someone to play Scarlett and Jessica’s name was thrown up. We have sent word across to her and hope for a positive reply,” said Karthik.

‘Goa’ will be directed by Tamil film industry’s upcoming star director Venkat Prabhu who has given such hits like ‘Chennai 600028′ and ‘Saroja.’

There are two more female leads in the movie and talks are on with actresses Sneha and Genelia for the same.

Jessica, who has played an array of roles from a humanoid in the TV series ‘Dark Angel’ to a choreographer in ‘Honey’ and a superhero in the successful franchise of ‘Fantastic Four’, is currently on a short break after giving birth last year.

Alba’s last work was comedy film ‘The Love Guru’ where she was paired opposite Mike Myers.
