Karachi Receives 142 mm Rainfall: Met Office

KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has said Karachi has received 142 millimeter rainfall so far and forecast light rainfall in the city today.

Several vehicles have been trapped in the rainwater at various roads of the metropolis. The city has been deprived of the power, which has aggravated the water supply situation.

The underpasses also closed due to the standing rainwater. The officials of the city government and MQM mebers of assembly visited various localities of Karachi to view the relief operations.

Karachi has overall received 142 milimeter rainfall, the met department said. The Met office recorded maximum rain of 205 millimetres (mm) at Masroor Base, while 189 mm rainfall recorded at  Saddar area and 142 mm at Airport.

Chief Meteorologist in Karachi Muhammad Riaz has said that Karachi will likely to receive light rainfall during next 12 hours.
