Karachi To Have Two Hours Load-Shedding From Today

ISLAMABAD:Federal Secretary on Water and Power Ismail Qureshi on Monday said that Karachi will have two hours scheduled load-shedding from Tuesday. Talking to private TV channel, he said “Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) has agreed for two hour scheduled load-shedding from today (Tuesday).”
The secretary said detail discussions were held with the new management of KESC for the improvement of department. The new management will take over the charge of the department from tomorrow (Tuesday), he added.
He said the new management of KESC has agreed to generate full capacity till Eid.
To a question he said KESC was not generating electricity to its full capacity due to increase of oil prices which created shortage.
Under the plan, he said, 800 MW electricity will be added to KESC by April 2009 to fulfill city requirements.
