Kashmiris Observe Black Day On Indian Independence Day

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian Independence Day is being observed as Black Day today. Strict security measures have been taken on this occasion in the valley.
All Parties Hurriyet conference had given a complete strike call to observe black day today and announced to boycott all ceremenies in this regard.
Main ceremony regarding Independence Day will be held in Srinagar Stadium under tight security. Defence Ministry spokesman said some people could attack in ceremonies on occasion of Independence Day. Strict security arrangements were taken in the Srinagar, he added.
Curfew was imposed in the valley due to ongoing clashes between protestors and Indian troops. At least 22 Kashmiri were killed and several others injured in clashed in recent days.![]()
