SRINAGAR: On call of All Parties Huriyat Conference (APHC), Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe the Right of Self-Determination Day today (Monday).
Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement urged India to stop its state terrorism and to create a conducive atmosphere for the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations.
It was on January 5 in 1949 that the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution, which recognized the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir but despite lapse of 60 years the resolution could not be implemented.
Kashmiris living abroad would present memorandums to Indian and Pakistani observers in United Nations in which they would ask to ensure implementation on UN resolutions.
