Latest updates about LIL Wayne Going to jail, The Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession in New York City on Thursday, and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence.
The Grammy-winning rapper plead guilty to attempted weapon possession in New York City on Thursday, and will most likely receive a one-year jail sentence. He is going to jail as part of a plea deal to avoid a longer term behind bars as he could be sentenced to 3.5 years. He will be sentenced in February.
The charges was found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007. LIL Wayne previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3½ years in prison upon conviction. The news comes as the “Lollipop” hitmaker prepares to welcome a son with R&B star Nivea — his third child born in the past year!
LIL Wayne, 27, is also scheduled for trial in Arizona on felony drug possession and weapons charges. He has pleaded not guilty in that case. He remains free on bail while awaiting his February sentencing. The somber star did not speak as he left court.
