I 100% agree that we should have all these people tried for corruption. However, I am amazed by the fact that "8041 including 7793 persons from Sindh". This says that either all the couurption is coming from Sind. This is 98% of the cases. Or this law was passed just fro Sindh. Or the politicians from other provinces are very pious. I am just lost at the imbalance. Looks like Nazaw took care of his people and cases when he was in power. PPP and Sindh people cases were pending from them to come back to power. All of these cases are from the time of Nazaw Sharif. Justice is Pakistan is very distorted.

My humble view is all politicians are very courrupt in Pakistan. We dismiss all the cases when hy come in power and fine new case against their opposition.

The reason why most of the names are from sindh is again a political tact by Mr President. Having MQM all top line in the list, he saved himslef from much criticism and pressure from this frindly -opposite party. Moreover, the Prisident is trying to paly a sindh card on this issue. No doubt most of the cases were raised in anti-ppp nowaz sharif government but this list is not showing any case or any name filed during musharraf era.

Hang every corrupt person and instituion in Pakistan and the population of Pakistan will remain just 5-10% of existing. We all are corrupt. Starting from teh most powerful ones....1st. Army is corrupt (Not in the list) 2nd Politicians are corrupt 3rd beaurocrats are corrupt 4th Judiciary if corrupt (Now acting innocent) 5th Businessmen are corrupt and finally the people are corrupt.
Nobody can utter a single word against army. Being the most powerful institution, it has the highest responsibility and it had ruled the most (directly or indirectly). Armyman gets the piece of land for free but when a civilian gallops it.....its termed corruption.

I do not want to defend any one but I think you have not been fair, Can you name a single Army man who got a free plot?No Sir, I had carried out a research after I read the Book By Dr. Ayesha and found out that the Defence Colonies are a welfare measure by the Army for its employees, where the Army collectively purchases a large chunk of land then develops it and allots to its members on the cost price. Mr. Malik Riaz is doing the same and selling that to the civilians at the Market rates. The Army lands are categorised and as per the law cannot be given to any one. There is a strict Audit in the Army which points out any breach or violation of rules. Free land is only given to winners of Gallantry Awards.like Sitara Jurrat etc.
I do agree with you that a few senior people bend rules for themselves and such people should be taken to task.It is very easy to blame the Army but if you go into the realities you will find that an officer may get one plot in his service, for which he has to pay. The difference is tht civilians are prepared to pay much more to buy property in a defence area due to obvious benefits such as security etc. I was surprised to learn that a sepoy of Military police can stop an officer to check him and also can report against him if he finds any irregularity. Intelligence does not hesitate to report even against generals if any wrong doing is reported.This makes the Army a powerful institution.
As a Pakistani I feel that THIS is what should be done in the whole of Pakistan, no body should be above the Law, discipline should be respected, as is done in the Army. This is the only reason why the Army did not disintegrate so far in spite of such a lot of corruption in our society.
I suggest we should not be so irresponsible to outrightly blame an institution without first confirming the facts. We have the courage to speak of the corruption of our leaders therefore we should have the courage to name the Army men who got free land so that the Army either explains why free land was given to them or at least we do our national duty.
Oh yes the Army men are also given a house on retirement for which they have to pay installments through out their service. No Doubt if they sell this house they get an almost three to four times the value.
I know we hate Musharraf but that is no reason to belittle those who had no role in the doings of Musharraf. The Army has always been our savior , it still is bleeding and is fighting the evil designs and aspirations of the Indians who are sending in terrorists from Afghanistan after all they are always the target. I feel by blaming the army in general without confirming the realities, you are doing service to the Indians!
Secondly, what the Judiciary is doing now, no body ever had this courage, I fear the evil may harm them for this honest stand and pray Almighty Allah guides and helps them in every thing right that they do.
The Army selects people who have no character failing and if ever found, court martials its men.Politicians are never selected nor are they ever challenged for character failings.
What we need is a system of training and character building of our people so that they become aware of what is unbecoming, right or wrong.
I have a retired military officer in the family who is still very rigid about right and wrong, we make fun of him because we feel that wrong is a way of life here and if we listen to or follow him we will be ridiculed.
My dear why cant we have Military styled disciplined honesty and welfare for every one civilian or otherwise and consequently a plot and house for every one!

Mind you audit in the army is done by an Accounts department headed by civilian officers of the CSS Cadre.All the Audit officers are from the accounts department and are also civilians. They do not serve under any formation of the Army, therefore cannot be pressurized to prevent reporting any irregularity. You May go to the site of the Military accounts department and confirm this for yourself.
Another thing is that contrary to the common belief, the Army Budget is only 5% ( Five Percent of The GDP) whereas commonly people usually say that the Army consumes 80 % of the Budget. ( See the Internet to confirm the facts) If the Army can have such a lot of equipment , helicopters and projects with 5 % of the Budget, why cant the Civil government show the output with the remaining 95% ? This is because of a 58 % of GDP spent in repaying our loans that successive governments took. Mind you Musharraf was bad but he had revived the economy, the Dollar was Rs 62/- and we had stopped borrowing to repay our loans. The problem is that we concentrate on ROTI, Kapra & Makkan. We only find faults in every one and blame everyone without any intellectual research!

Dear Kaiser, I appreciate your rhetoric reply that over praised the most corrupt (though invisible to common eye) institution and respect your opinion. Most unfortunately, the attrocities of these army men are not visible. Please check Hunood ur Rehman commission report on Bangladesh, Gym Khana incident at Hyderabad, Major Arshad's unjust killings, Lal Masjid operation,Ojirri camp explosion at Islamabad and perhaps many more.
I accept my limitation of providing you with the names of noble army men that have been provided with lucrative benefits and perks in the name of remuneration for their high risk jobs. I'm far away from my beloved homeland and cannot gather the data but I'm thankful to almighty ALLAH that I can view the news and matters with a neutral eye.
I'd be the last person serving the Indian agenda as far as India is a non-muslim country. Who created Taliban, who put the nation to test in 1979 by welcoming Afghanis and serving the agenda of American war lords against Russia. It was an Amry dictator. In return we got heroine, klashikov culture and countless crimes. The government of Mohammad Khan Junejo was dismissed by the same dictator on the charges of corruption that was termed incorrect by the supreme court (as admitted by General Mirza Aslam Baig). Who is responsible for that and why was it done? Was Junejo investigating some corruption charges and unfoilling the truth? God knows better!

By what token does an army man gets the plot/house at its retirement much more in value than the amount deducted from his salary? Why not the other government employees get so? A government employee cannot even buy the 10th of its value out of his whole life's salary, forget about the savings. Why the hell the value of perks and benefits granted to Army men are in such a huge im-proportion? that a common Pakistani could just dream off.
If after spending the major portion of our budget for donkey number of years on defence, the Army is incapable of restoring peace in our tourist heavens (Northern areas) that were polluted by ownself.......I believe we dont require it just for the sake showing a hefty expense in our income statement.
Unfortunately the whole nation has to pay for it and off course the corrupt politicians, legislators, judiciary, beaurocracy takes place. We cannot have mangoes from bamboo sticks. Corruption will give birth to corruption.

But my question is that for those who are thinking that why not army personnel and other persons are not involved in CJ judgement . The answer is that CJ was hearing the case of NRO and the personalites who get benifit in this regards and announce a decesion for only those cases.Now it is also the responsibility of Govt. party to highlight the cases for those corrupt people who are not in the list and they have information about them and have to inform supreme court about that.Because SC is not taking any Suao Moto action against any one .

No doubt! for a person who is away from his beloved country, things appear form the perspective of the news writers or the news anchors.Do you know that there is no law and order situation in the Northern Areas of Pakistan,which are Chitral and Gilgit. Somehow the international press is referring to Waziristan ( the place to which I belong ) as the Northern Areas.which is absolutely incorrect.and is damaging our tourism!
It is the Social Matrix of our beloved homeland which is in disarray.Soldiers , Politicians, Bureaucrats,Lawyers etc are all a part of this Matrix and also a part of us. It would have been ideal if all the Concerned people like you had returned to the beloved homeland to root out the corrupt, if you have genuine grievances against the Army, You should have the courage to write in person to the Army Chief or his spokes person the ISPR Directorate so that they may clarify all your apprehensions. Single Day of Judgment is 50000 year (Al-Quran) and sun will be at miles distance, what is the ration of 30 years (most of these people may live that long now being in their 50s) vs. 50000 years. Before Day of Judgment is life in grave, only Allah Tala knows for how long – could be for centuries.
