Malaysia vs Vietnam, Probably for the first time ever, I am proud of our football team. Trust me, I’ve watched LOADS of local football – club and country alike. The game vs host nation Laos was fantastic with 3 very well executed goals – I thought the teams looked slightly fatigued in the final, but the tactic by Rajagopal was correct – we counter attacked in the first, and went all out in the second. I loved how the boys held on and never gave up or buckled under pressure, that is usually the case with Malaysians when it comes to their favourite sport, ie football and badminton – they were tough, and they won, and they deserved it, ending our 20 year gold drought. Me alongside millions of others are surely elated, and I hope this is a sign of good things to come – I just hope that they don’t think this is enough, that there is more to work on and we can be better
