Manmohan Singh Joined Raksha Bandhan Celebrations

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur joined schoolchildren in celebrating Raksha Bandhan.
Children from various schools and NGOs tied Rakhi on the wrist of Singh who offered them sweets, PMO sources said.
In a message on the occasion, the Prime Minister said the festival reinforces the sanctity of our traditional familial ties.
“It provides an opportunity to bridge differences and strengthen the bonds of fraternity and brotherhood,” he said.
