Mehdi Shah Elected Gilgit-Baltistan CM

SKARDU, Pakistan News: Syed Mehdi Shah of Pakistan People’s Party took oath as the first Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan unopposed.
Wazir Baig and Jamil Ahmed were also elected unopposed as speaker and deputy speaker respectively.
PML-Q had fielded Mirza Hussain against Syed Mehdi Shah but Hussain withdrew in favour of Syed Mehdi who then was become CM unopposed. For the office of Speaker and deputy speaker, PML-Q nominated Bashir Ahmed Khan and Amna Ansari respectively but both of them withdrew in favor of PPP candidates Wazir Baig and Jamil Akhtar who also got elected unopposed.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has greeted Syed Mehdi, Wazir Baig and Jamil Akhtar on their success.
