Weeks after the Mumbai Terror attacks, the trauma of the carnage continues to manifest. In London, India’s Picasso in exile, artist MF Husain will be unveiling his anguish at the Mumbai terror attack through his painting titled ‘Rape of India’.
Speaking to TIMES NOW, the artist who is in London for the Indian contemporary Art Exhibition at the famous Serpentine Gallery said that the attack on Mumbai was the ultimate violation of the Metropolis.
He said, “This is a rape of a nation and maximum violence one could do to another human. This is more cruel than killing someone or destroying the identity of a person.”
Speaking about his return back to India, the veteran artist added, “The legal battle is gone but the political aspects, it takes time. Besides that, I’m so involved in this work, it may take one or two years. In this age of communication, the world has become a global village. You can stay anywhere, you can feel that you are in India. Only physically you aren’t there. I stay in Dubai, its just a 2-hr flight, so many people come to meet me.”
