Miss Gibraltar Wins Miss World, Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino has been named winner of the 2009 Miss World pageant in Johannesburg. The coveted beauty pageant is in its 59th year presently and has received participation of ladies from 112 different nations round the globe. Miss Mexico, Perla Beltran Acosta, was the first runner up followed by Miss South Africa, Tatum Keshwar. Apparently, Miss South Africa was the hot favourite to win the crown. Ex-Miss World and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was one of the judges at the event. Gibraltar, known as The Rock, is a quirky, multicultural British outpost of 30,000 people, most of whom speak perfect Spanish and even own property along Spain’s southern Mediterranean coast.
