More Or Less Same Combination For Second Test: Kumble

GALLE :Indian skipper Anil Kumble on Wednesday hinted visitors might retain line-up that lost opening cricket Test against Sri Lanka for second match of series starting on Thursday.

“There will be more or less tame combination of Indian team for tomorrow’s match,” Kumble told reporters.

India is trailing three-Test series 0-1 after losing opening match inside four days in Colombo, collapsing against spin duo of Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis.

Kumble, although describing the loss as “a collective debacle’, admitted Dinesh Karthik’s failure was “the most worrying aspect of loss. Karthik’s performance was a matter of concern, but we are not pin-pointing performance of any one person. The team as a whole failed to perform well in last Test.’

However, veteran spinner said team was confident of bouncing back in second Test. “We will try to come up with a better performance.”
