ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday staged a token walk out from the National Assembly over the electricity breakdown in Karachi.
As soon as the regular proceedings of the Lower House of the Parliament started, Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Ghauri raised from his seat and tried to speak on a point of order with regard to prolonged power breakdown on Wednesday night in Karachi.
Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi did not allow him to raise the point of order and said that under the rules no other business could be taken up in the House during the budget debate.
Federal Minister for Labour and Manpower Syed Khursheed Shah also requested the chair to give time to Babar Ghauri on which the Deputy Speaker observed that there are a number of other issues in the country.
Later, Khursheed Shah went to the MQM members and brought them back in the House.
