National Security Committee finalises recommendations

ISLAMABAD: The National Security Committee of the Parliament here Tuesday finalized its recommendations for government’s policy on national security to be tabled in the upcoming sessions of National Assembly and Senate for approval, reported ARY OneWorld.
The committee met here at Parliament House with Senator Raza Rabbani in chair and nailed down its recommendations for national security policy.
Briefing the media after hours-long meeting, Rabbani said that said that the recommendations have been finalized keeping in mind the national interests of the country.
He said committee’s recommendations would be presented in National Assembly on April 9 and in Senate on April 17 for debate and approval. He said that by formulating these proposals the political leadership has proved that it has preferred national interest on personal and political gains.
Rabbani declared that the committee would also oversee the implementation of its recommendations by the authorities.
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman congratulated the nation and said that recommendations have been finalized in light of the resolutions adopted by both Houses of the Parliament.
The recommendations are aimed at devising a strategy to protect the national integrity, he added.
Committee’s members including Jamaat-i-Islami’s Prof Khursheed Ahmed, PML-N’s Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and ANP’s Afraseyab Khatak also spoke to media persons.
