Nisar Ali Khan Sees Free Judiciary Behind Govt RestorationISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Tuesday that the reinstatement of Punjab government by the Supreme Court was a message that judiciary in the country was independent and there was rule of law.

“The decision also shows that no body can act against people’s mandate,” he said while talking to media outside the Parliament House.

He said the PML-N leadership was thankful to Almighty and the party would “try to come up to the expectations of the people.” He asked PML-N workers to behave with humility and thank God for getting a just court verdict.

Nisar Ali Khan said that the March 16 restoration of judiciary was the demand of not only PML-N but of the entire nation. “The situation in the country will start improving now.”

Replying to a question, he dismissed apprehension about any institutional frictions.”The system in the country can only better function if all the institutions work within their own limits. If any institution crosses its limits then the system has self-correcting mechanism,” he said.

Brushing aside the rumours that the PML-N had asked President and the Prime Minister to remove Governor Punjab, he said President Asif Ali Zardari was the head of PPP and it was up to him to take any decision about it.

To another question, he said there was no need to invite PPP to join PML-N in the provincial government in Punjab as according to the apex court’s ruling the Punjab government had been restored on pre-February 25 condition when the Pakistan People’s Party was a part of the ruling provincial coalition.

He said President Zardari had earlier stated that PPP would sit on opposition benches in Punjab assembly. “If he continues to maintain this position then PML-N will take a decision in this regard.”
