ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: NWFP Gets Rs10 Billion in NHP Dues, The federal government has released the first installment of Rs10 billion net hydel profits (NHP) on bulk electricity generation at hydro-electric stations in the province.

According to the sources, the federal government has released first installment of Rs10 billion after which NWFP government is expected to announce its participation in NFC meeting in Karachi.

Earlier, the NWFP government has decided to not participate in NFC meeting. NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain has thanked Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani on payment of NHP.

The federal government will give NWFP benefits of power generation, pledged Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin Sunday (November 15).

Earlier the NWFP government warned the federal government to boycott the meeting of the National Finance Commission Award, if its demands are not met.

Tarin said that the first installments of Rs 10 billion would be released soon and remaining amount would be given in annual installments. He said that NWFP has right on power benefit.

A meeting has been called tomorrow (Monday) to remove the reservations of the provincial government, he added.
