Operation in Malakand 11 Militants killed: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: At least 11 militants including one of their commander were killed in last 24 hours of ongoing Operation Rah-e-Rast in Malakand division.

Security forces also detained 23 militants from various areas of the division and recovered huge amount of explosives and weapons from their possession, said a handout issued by the ISPR here Friday.

Two security personnel were killed in the search operation in Gokda and Tandwag areas of Swat, while in Dir, four members of a tribal lashkar killed and two others were wounded in their ongoing drive against the militants in the district.

Unknown miscreants blew up a telephone exchange in Lower Dir, the handout added.
