At least 32 insurgents were killed during clashes with the Taliban militants, while six soldiers including an officer were also martyred.

He said the militants were armed with heavy weapons and that troops responded with heavy artillery. 18 soldiers were also wounded in addition to the six dead.

A prominent militant commander Hafiz Gul Zaman was also among the 32 militants killed.
