Pak Army facilitating infiltration?
Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:07 am Under India News 11 views
The Indian Army has claimed another ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops near Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu on Thursday (July 17), the third such incident reported from the Poonch sector within a week.
The Thursday’s (July 17) firing, which injured a solider, was seen by the Indian Army as yet another attempt by the Pakistani counterpart to help infiltrating militants to Jammu and Kashmir. This comes a day after TIMES NOW broke the story of Interpol warning India about an increased Taliban threat.
What has sent alarm bells ringing in the security agencies is that in the past two months more than 15 incidents of ceasefire violations by the Pakistani side have been reported from various posts in Poonch, Akhnoor, Samba and Tangdhar in Jammu and Kashmir.
With the joint terror mechanism meeting between Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and its Pakistan counterpart already cancelled in the wake of the Indian embassy attack in Kabul, the recent spurt in infiltration bid by militants and the ceasefire violations but the Pakistan Army is definitely going to overshadow Friday’s (July 18) Joint secretary level talks.
