Petrol Prices Hike Challenged in SCISLAMABAD: Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has filed a petition in Supreme Court to challenge the hike in the prices of petroleum products recently announced by the government.

The petitioner has pleaded the court to suspend the notification about hike in the prices of petroleum products and the prices should be fixed at June 30 level.

The petitioner has also pleaded to the learned court to include the petition in the case already pending with the court and requested hearing of the case on July 06.

The petitioner in the plea said that the apex court had directed the government in an interim order for considerable cut in the prices of petroleum products but the government made slight reduction in prices and than hiked the prices from five to seven rupees per litre.

Ikram Chaudhry Advocate filed the petition on behalf of the petitioner Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in Supreme Court.
