PM Gilani Vows to Protect Democracy

MULTAN, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday reiterated that Pakistan Peoples Party would not let the institutions collide, assuring protection of the 1973 Constitution, given by the PPP founder late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
“We were jailed for working for the people, we will not betray them who have expressed their confident over PPP leadership,” affirmed the premier while addressing a large gathering here in Multan, his home town and a historic city.
He said the executives and parliament were playing there due role in the democratic system “therefore neither there in any confrontation among the institutions nor there would be so in future, and they are wrong who think the army will takeover.”
“PPP will protect the 1973 Constitution which was given by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and would not let the democratic institutions collide,” Gilani stated.
He said “PPP is symbol of federation and Multan is castle of the party. We ensure creation of job opportunities across the country.”
