PM Sheikh Hasina Adds Six Ministers to Cabinet

DHAKA: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has added six lawmakers from her ruling party to her seven-month-old Cabinet.
Hasina’s spokesman Abul Kalam Azad says it is the first expansion of the 44-member Cabinet.
The new ministers were sworn in Friday by President Zillur Rahman.
The new ministers are Shahjahan Khan, Enamul Haq, Mujibur Rahman Fakir, Promod Mankin, Mahbubur Rahman and Shirin Sharmin.
Hasina’s Awami League party swept December elections and formed a government that replaced a military-backed interim administration.
Bangladesh is a parliamentary democracy where the prime minister is the head of the government.
