‘Politician’ Chiru caught in controversy

It’s Chiranjeevi’s first controversy after turning politician. The Andhra Police books the Telugu megastar under charges of kidnapping for his alleged role in a controversial high-profile inter-caste wedding in the state. The police allege that he plotted with others in the kidnapping and wrongful confinement of the bride.
Little did the actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi know that attendance at this inter-caste wedding would trigger a storm. The bride’s parents are accusing Chiranjeevi of using the occassion to score political points.
The girl’s uncle reacting to Chiranjeevi’s presence at the marriage, said, “It’s an illegal marriage. Chiranjeevi and the boy’s father, Padma Rao, arranged this marriage.”
But the newly wed couple who invited Chiru, don’t see ‘politics’. The bride Nalini, said, ” We both of us agreed for marriage. My husband and me had invited Chiranjeevi as a guest.”
The bridgegroom Chetan, speaking on the controversy said, “Our marriage is a love marriage. It has absolutely nothing to do with any political party or any prominent political person.”
Nalini’s parents, however, insist on calling Chiranjeevi hypocritical reminding him of his disapproval when his own daughter had eloped to marry a person outside her caste.
On second thoughts for the politician in Chiranjeevi attending this wedding was perhaps more than social courtesy.
