Govt to Form Parliamentary committee to review 17 th Amendment, 58 2(B)ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has asked Speaker National Assembly to form a committee of all the political parties for the amendment in the Constitution, implementation of Charter of Democracy (CoD) and take decision on 58-2(B), saying that the comittee should finalize its proposals without any delay. Addressing the joint session of the Parliament here Saturday, the President said that the supremacy of the Parliament was the dream of Benazir Bhutto. He congratulated all the parliamentarians to complete their first year successfully, besides greeting newly-elected Senators at the start of his address. President urged the federal government to form a policy to address Balochistan’s problems and apprehensions besides announcing Rs 47 billion package for the province on behalf of the government. Services chiefs, provincial governors and chief ministers, foreign diplomats, top civil and military officials, chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other senior politicians also attended the joint session of the Parliament. Earlier, Chairman Senate Farooque H Naek and Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza welcomed President Zardari on his arrival at Parliament House. Ms Mirza, flanked by Naek, ran the proceedings of the session.
