In the Spanish Premier League, Real Madrid looked to win their first game in four as they played Valencia. Real Madrid were certainly not favourites going into their game against Valencia, but the European big boys started off with a bang. Dutchman Arjen Robben skipped past two defenders before allowing Gonsalo Higuain to shoot home from 20 yards.
The goal came as welcome relief for the Real fans who’ve been missing the attacking flair football that their side is world renowned for.
Former Chelsea man Robben showed glimpses of his immense talent launching attack after attack including this seventy yard run but the winger couldn’t produce the finish.
Robben had a number of chances to seal the game but he just couldn’t find the finish despite wrong footing the defence and the goalkeeper on more than one occassion.
Real kept their opponents at bay to pick up a much needed victory climbing one place to fifth in the table much to the delight of their manager Juande Ramos.
