SALEM: Closures and repairs are taking place simultaneously in Oregon as utility crews deal with massive amounts of rain from a wind-driven
lightning and thunder storm.
A multiple alarm fire is reportedly burning in Keizer, Oregon. We will bring you more information on that as it becomes available.

Medical:
Salem Health: Salem Hospital has cancelled tonight’s 7:00 p.m. childbirth preparation class.
School Meetings & Graduations:
The Reynolds School District Budget Committee meeting for Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 6:30 pm at Reynolds High School District is canceled due to the storm warning.
Marion Co. Schools:
Woodburn Sch. Dist.: The Graduation Ceremony tonight (June 4th) has been cancelled due to unsafe weather and a lack of electricity. It is rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5th on the high school football field.
Public Schools
Polk Co. Schools:
Dallas Sch. Dist.: Morrison Graduation moved to Dallas High School Gym 7:30 pm. Grads meet in DHS forum at 7:00 p.m UPDATE
Yamhill Co. Schools:
Yamhill-Carlton Sch. Dist.: Due to storms and intermitten loss of power 8th Grade Promotion is cancelled for tonight. Rescheduled for Monday, June 8th, 7:00 p.m.
Private Colleges & Universities:
Marylhurst University: Closed Thursday evening due to storm
New Horizons Computer Learning Centers: Due to severe weather warnings, New Horizons classes are cancelled for the evening of June 4, 2009.
Public Colleges & Universities:
Portland Community College: Portland Community College’s Capital Center is closed and classes are cancelled the evening of June 4 due to a power outage. All other PCC campuses and centers remain open.
Utilities:
Clark Public Utilities: About 2,300 customers of Clark Public Utilities are without electric service due to today’s weather. Scattered outages, caused by downed trees and limbs, are affecting customers in the Battle Ground, Ridgefield, La Center, Woodland and Amboy areas, Crews are working to restore power.
Cowlitz County PUD: Cowlitz PUD line crews are reponding to power outages across the county as a result of violent weather.
As of 7:00 p.m. 3,500 customers are without electricty – including most the Highway 503 area from Woodland to Cougar, West Side Highway near Castle Rock from the Delameter area north, parts of Silver Lake and Toutle, Old Pacific Highway North from exit 49 north and Clark Creek Road in Longview.
The first outage was reported near Lake Merwin at 5:40 p.m. Cowlitz PUD serives 48,200 customers in Cowltiz County, WA. UPDATE
ODOT/Portland, Mt. Hood: I-84 East on ramp open Earlier today I-84 east bound on ramp from Grand Avenue was closed due to fallen tree on vehicle. No injuries reported. ODOT crews have now reopened the open ramp. UPDATE
PGE: Crews continue to respond to weather-related outages. As of 5:55 p.m., close to 50,000 PGE customers are without power due to severe thunderstorms and high winds. PGE is mobilizing all available resources to respond and will continue to work through the night to restore power. As always, safety is our number one priority.
